So often we go from the mountaintop to the valley of despair, how does God get us through to the other side? Consider these thoughts from our Family Minister, Scott Jewell.
Why did Elisha insist (3 times) to go with Elijah to his fiery chariot ride… but all of the “sons of the Prophets” insisted on standing some distance away?
Why did Jesus lead Peter, James, and John up on the mountain? And why would God make it so they could see Moses and Elijah speaking with Christ that day?
Faced with the threat of death, Elijah lost his faith that God cared for him and lost sight of God’s power. Can that happen to us, and what can Elijah’s experience teach us about our faith?
